Shapiro

Raphael "Make the Beer-o Di" Shapiro

Hometown: Sag Harbor, NY
Major: American Studies
College: Silliman
Voice Part: Baritone

Raphael Shapiro is known for wearing red bandanas over his eyes. He is the only one who keeps a red bandana. Raphael wields twin sai as his primary weapon, although historically, sai were never used by ninja as the sai is a Kobudo weapon originating in Okinawa. He is generally the most likely to experience extremes of emotion, and is usually depicted as being aggressive, sullen and rebellious. The origin of Raphael's anger is not always fully explored, but in some incarnations appears to stem partly from the realization that they are the only creatures of their kind and ultimately alone. He is named after the Renaissance artist Raphael.

Musical Director

Hometown: Woodbridge, CT
Major: Cognitive Science
College: Davenport
Voice Part: Second Tenor

Like all New Haven natives, Ben takes immense pride in his city's rich and historic patronage of a cappella singing. Roused from slumber since birth by "Aj, Lucka Lucka" and rocked back to bed with "The Whiffenpoof Song," he feels right at home on stage with the group, but don't be too surprised if you see him falling gently asleep at the end of every concert.
